The Fencing SA AGM is not until mid-October, but a couple of our Board members’ terms of election are coming to an end and we are looking for people to join us as Directors.  

What does being on the Board entail?  

• Giving input into the strategic direction of fencing in SA, including development of our sport from grass roots to high performance, our competition calendar, coaching and refereeing courses, club support, etc. 
• Attending Board meetings, currently these are every four weeks. 
• Being on the roster to assist at state competitions (you don’t have to go to every single one!).  

We specifically also need people with the following skillsets:  

• Treasuring/accounting/book-keeping 
• Risk, policy and governance
• Communications   

You don’t need to know everything there is about fencing but need to have an interest in growing and developing the sport. Current and previous Board members include parents, fencers and coaches.
