Australian Youth Circuit #2 - 20 and 21 April

Published Sun 24 Mar 2024

On April 20 and 21 we are hosting a national event – the Australian Youth Circuit #2 (AYC#2) at The Lights Community Centre, Lightsview.

What is it?

The AYC is open to all nationally-affiliated members aged between 10 years (as at the last day of the AYC tournament) and 15 years (by December 31 of the tournament year).   The AYC events are suitable for school fencers, club fencers, and state fencers. The AYC events are the main competition in Australia for children aged under 15 years, and provides an excellent opportunity for enjoyment and development.

The AYC culminates in an AYC Final for the top 16 ranked fencers in each weapon and gender. Click here to read more about the Circuit generally.

This event being held in Adelaide is number two of the three national events. This is an excellent opportunity for developing your fencing by competing with fencers from interstate.

This event is run and managed by the Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) – supported by FencingSA as the host state.

When is it?

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April, held at The Lights Community Centre (the same venue as our state competitions). Foil, Epee and Sabre events are on different days, click here for the schedule.

The top 16 fencers in each individual event are invited to also compete in a teams event on the same weekend – click here to read more about the teams event format.

How do I enter?

All entries are done online – via the Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) website: https://www.ausfencing.org/tribe-events/2024-australian-youth-circuit-ayc-2/

Early entries close Saturday 6 April, late entries (+late entry fee) close 4pm AEST 18 April.

You will need an FSA “National Licence” to enter – if you have a State Licence, you will need to upgrade. Click here for instructions on how to do this (scroll down to “changing your licence type”).

Entries for this event for Australian fencers must be made by accessing the AFF Onepoint system.  Before accessing the AFF Onepoint system for the first time, click here to read the information page.

If you have any issues using Onepoint, email support@fencing.org.au

If you have any issues with your entry email entries@fencing.org.au

DO NOT leave your entry to the last minute, especially if you need to do a licence upgrade or need your proof of age verified, as these do have some manual verification steps, and will need some processing time.

If I don’t compete – what else can I do?

We need volunteers!

  • Set up and pack up crew,
  • Equipment control,
  • Camera operators and
  • First aid.

Click here to read more about the volunteer roles and to sign up.

And… we encourage you to come along on the weekend and cheer on your fellow SA fencers!

Finally, don’t forget we have our own Under 15 (and Under 17/20 and Open-B) events coming up, on Sunday 7 April! Click here for more information and to enter.
