Coaching Course: Level 1 Group and Individual
Calling all future sabre coaches! This course is open to
- Any fencer who has been fencing for at least 24 months (preferably actively in sabre)
- Any coach already holding Level 1 in another weapon (or fencer holding Level 1 coaching in another sport)
- Any fencer/coach already coaching/assisting with sabre lessons and would like the formal accreditation
- Any current sabre coaches who woule like to revisit the course as an update/professional development opportunity
- Must be aged 16 and over

DATES
4 x 4 hour sessions: 12-4pm, Saturday 22 June, 29 June, 27 July, 10 August.
In addition: an assessment session to be held at a later date, to be confirmed with participants.
All sessions must be attended.
LOCATION
Charles Sturt Fencing Club, Hindmarsh
FEES
$200 (plus costs for First Aid and obtaining a Working with Children Check).
Any coaches already holding Level 1 group sabre (or higher) - 50% reduction in course fees! Contact us for a discount code. You must still attend all four sessions to obtain the Level 1 individual.
MINIMUM NUMBERS
The course needs at least four participants to go ahead - the cut off time for this decision will be at close of registrations.
ADDIITIONAL COACHING INFORMATION
To become fully accredited, candidates must:
- complete Coach Education component:
- attend all four sessions of the course
- pass the group and individual assessments
- provide evidence of coaching hours (20 supervised, 10 unsupervised)
- complete AFF Coach Accreditation requirements (at own cost):
- FSA membership
- Working with Children Check
- AFF Child Protection Agreement
- Communicty Coaching Essential Skills
- First Aid
