Fencing SA runs a school-age team foil competition on Thursday evenings in Terms 2 and 3. This is the seventh year of the competition which has grown steadily each year. The competition is open to teams of foil fencers who are attending primary or secondary school. Clubs may enter teams, as well as school groups.

Divisions and teams
There are three divisions; junior (all fencers must be in Year 8 and below), senior (Year 9 and above) and girls (all ages). Teams may register for one division only. Teams must have three or more fencers, but there is no maximum number of fencers per team.
The competition is divided into two parts: the League and the Knockout Challenge. The League is a round robin; each team will fence every other team in their division. Matches will be fenced to 36 hits (9 bouts of 4 hits). The Knockout Challenge uses the League rankings to develop a knockout competition where matches will be fenced to the full 45 hits.
The current 2020 fencing season has been impacted Covid19 with a late start in term 3. Thus the usual league and knockout challenge is being replaced in 2020 by the
SCHOOLS FOIL TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIPS
This will be held @ the FSA state venue, The Lights Community and Sports Centre on the 13th of September 2020.
Teams will comprise of fencers from the same school. Final format to be determined depending on entry numbers.
